Ranjini Eye Hospital
Ranjini Eye Hospital (REH), located at Vyttila, Ernakulam, started functioning as a full fledged ophthalmic surgical center since January 26, 2004. Dr. N.S.D. Raju, the medical director had initially started Ranjini in the same premises as a residence cum eye clinic in 1994. The surgical area was added in March 2000. Currently the center is a state of the art ophthalmic surgical center catering to the population of Ernakulam, Kottayam, Trichur, Alleppey and Calicut districts of Kerala.
Today, Ranjini Eye Hospital has gained wide recognition excellence in ophthalmic services and is accredited by the prestigious National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH)
under its new standards for Small Health Care Organizations (SHCO). REH has cleared the rigid and strict quality audit and assessments and has become the first and the only small health care organization in
the country to receive this prestigious accreditation under the NABH-SHCO standards. Remarkably, Ranjini Eye Hospital is the first eye hospital in Kerala to bag this accreditation and is the second eye
hospital in the country to be accredited by the NABH.
Ranjini Eye Hospital, with its state-of-the-art Ophthalmic Surgical Centre has the most advanced equipment and a panel of highly qualified and experienced specialists for performing the latest and safest
procedures in ophthalmic surgery. Equipped with the most advanced Phacoemulsifier (Legacy with Advantek and Neosonix technology) for key hole surgery for cataract, the Accurus Vitrectomy system for advanced vitreo retinal Surgery, the Optical Coherence Tomography for diagnosis and treatment of Retinal disease and Glaucoma, the Octopus 311 perimeter for early diagnosis and treatment of Glaucoma, a Corneal topography system for diseases of the cornea, and Low Vision Optical aids for the rehabilitation of the visually handicapped.
Ranjini Eye Hospital is a private limited company and the directors are: Dr. NSD Raju, Dr. Biju Raju, Mr. P. V. Divakaran, Mrs. K. G. Mani and Mrs. Neethu Biju Raju.
Ranjini Eye Hospital also has a community services wing under
Cochin Eye Foundation to extend
its services to the poor and the needy. Ever since its inception, the Foundation has remained at the forefront of community service and care. Under the auspices of the Foundation, patients are treated free
of cost from the income generated through the hospital. As an ongoing program, regular outreach camps are conducted thereby providing treatment and service free of cost to the deserving patients.
